If you are like me and you like to bake, but know you don't need to eat a few dozen cookies, have I got something to tell you!! While flipping through my newest issue of Taste of Home, I happened across an article on a group of women who bake cookies and send them to soldiers overseas. The website is www.bakinggals.com Immediately the wheels in my brain started turning...Ok, so I get to bake, but the cookies don't hang out and taunt me for days afterward. (Oh and I can always swipe one....Just to make sure they taste good of course)
The soldiers that recieve the goodies get to experience a taste of home when packages arrive. Not only do the sponsored soldiers benefit, but generally they get enough goodies to share!!
When you sign up and visit the site, you can review the teams for the current round, and sign up for a team. For each team site, you will be able to read a blurb, and sometimes see a picture of the soldier that team is currently sponsoring. I know that it is hard to pick a team, but you don't have to limit yourself to one. As a team member, you can bake as much, or as little as you want to; one dozen, or a dozen boxes. :)
This is my first time participating, and I can't wait to get started!! I actually signed up a bit late for this round, but am hoping that I can still get in. If not then I will be first in line to sign up for the next round!!
